DANIEL BENNETT

BEAR NECESSITIES

This week my guest on JazzBites is an accomplished musician, singer, and composer who's been described in the press as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. His innovative style and performance once personified in the media in his hometown of New York as 'refreshingly capricious and trippy' and on the Boston club scene as an 'exploratory Folk-Jazz hybrid.' With six critically-acclaimed albums in the last ten years and a seventh album on the way, he's earned the reputation as a perfectionist who is both flawless and adventurous in performance. Daniel is front man and leader of the tremendously-popular <Daniel Bennett Group> who were recently nominated as best jazz group in the NEW YORK CITY HOT HOUSE JAZZ AWARDS. [Photo: Jesse Winter, New York, NY]
